Australia is full of odd little creatures. The first European settlers must've been totally unnerved by them. I reckon the oddest and cutest little creature is the quokka. It's like a small, round, plump kangaroo and lurks only on Rottnest Island off the coast near Perth in Western Australia. The island was named Rottnest (i.e. "rat nest") by the unnerved Europeans who were clearly so freaked out they couldn't tell the difference between a cute little quokka and a rat.

Welcome to quirkaholic!
I love the strangeness of the world. Cute, ugly, old, new, seemingly ordinary or definitely odd, this is a chronicle of my observations of quirkdom.
So, hi!
